Typical tests and checks carried out on servo motors in our workshop

  • On entrance to the workshop, take digital photo
  • Carry out testing for – Surge, resistance, insulation and inductance to prove
  • Check feed back devices to manufacturers specifications
  • Run motor (if possible) check against manufacturers specs
  • Check bearing housings and shafts to mechanical tolerances
  • Check magnets to manufacturers specs (if required)
  • Quote to customer for approval to repair
  • After customer approval
  • Take Digital Photo of all steps.
  • Clean all parts of the motor
  • Rewind Stator (if required)
  • Carry out repairs to housings, shafts. etc. (if required)
  • Replace all bearings and seals (all motors regardless of old bearing and seal conditions)
  • Balance rotor to G1 specification “if required” ( all high speed units are balanced)
  • Reassemble motor
  • Install feed back unit, to manufactures specifications
  • Test both statically and dynamically to ensure correct operation
  • Set up and calibrate resolvers, tachometers and encoders to correct signal and position
  • Set brake to manufacturers holding torque settings. (if applicable)
  • Run test to prove motor and feed back unit
  • Load Test and report (if required by customer)
  • Check motor to manufacturers specs and digital entrance photo
  • Paint
  • Final inspection and return to customer
